Description
Purple Form Creeping Sedum (Sedum hispanicum var. minus), also
called Little Blue Spanish Stonecrop, features tiny evergreen succulent leaves.
The colors shift in the sun, displaying shades of blue, purple and bronze. The
plant blooms with a profusion of tiny pink flowers in late summer. Adapted to
dry growing conditions, this is an excellent addition to rock gardens and
succulent collection. Plant it in between other taller growing xeric (low
water) perennials to form a nicely colored carpet that will spread and root as
it grows. Spanish Stonecrop is a good companion plant for Sun Dancer Daisy
(Hymenoxys), small growing beardtongues (Penstemon), and cold-hardy cacti
(Echinocereus).
