Sedum pachyclados (Gray Stonecrop) weaves a tight mat of blue-green succulent rosettes that cover ground beautifully. The crenulated foliage – leaf tips etched with three small notches – give it a unique texture and charm. From spring to summer, white star-shaped flowers bloom, attracting butterflies and contrasting nicely with the foliage. A perfect choice for rock gardens, between stepping stones, or in crevice gardens, its mounding form will spread gently to fill out a space with elegant succulent foliage.
Description
Sedum pachyclados (Gray Stonecrop) – also known as Rhodiola pachyclados, weaves a tight mat of blue-green succulent rosettes that cover ground beautifully. At 2-4″ tall it spreads to 8-12″ wide. Plant it in a full sun location with average/gritty soil with good drainage. Regular water will help seedlings establish deep roots and spread quickly. It’s a beautiful container plant as well and combines nicely with other succulents. Once established it can tolerate drought for several months. Native to Pakistan and Afghanistan, it spreads by thin rhizomes.
